The seventh Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Chinese College Students rounded off in Wuxi, Jiangsu province on Sept 23, Wuxi Daily reported.
Central South University, National Tsing Hua University and Wuxi City College of Vocational Technology won first prizes in enterprise-proposing, personal-proposing and startup project groups, respectively.
The competition was aimed at building an international exchange platform for college students and young innovative talents. It attracted 1,295 teams from 400 colleges and universities from home and abroad, including delegations from India, Cambodia and Indonesia.
In the enterprise-proposing group, the enterprises set a topic according to their actual business situation, with bonuses given to the teams which can provide the best solutions.
Wuxi has held this competition for six consecutive sessions, which has had a profound influence on its service outsourcing industry nationwide, said Wang Quan, mayor of Wuxi. He hoped that more college students can show their talents in the competition and setup their companies in the city.
To date, there are more than 1,600 service outsourcing enterprises in Wuxi, providing jobs for over 170,000 people. The business of these enterprises has expanded to 97 countries and regions around the world.
